- Number In Packet: Comes with six packs (2 traps in each)
- How Long Does It Last: Up to 4 months, depending on your infestation size.
- Any Chemicals: No pesticides, fumes, and odors.

How To Apply It?
Step 1:
Unseal the trap.
Be extra careful when you open the trap, as you may accidentally push the sticky surfaces together.
This will cause both sides to get stuck and will not come open easily. You might permanently deform the motel if you press it together.
You’ll also want to avoid contact with the adhesive inside since it’s very sticky.
Pro tip: If you accidentally get the glue on your skin, remove it with olive oil and water.
Step 2
Next, place the traps in common locations where roaches live and travel.
If you are unsure, I recommend doing an overall inspection in your home to find signs of roaches such as roach carcasses and droppings.
In general, a good place to put the trap are places near water and food.
If you can’t find any signs of roaches, I recommend putting the trap under your bathroom and kitchen sink.
Another good place is under kitchen appliances.
Step 3
Depending on your infestation size, the trap can take anywhere between a few days or a week to capture roaches
Check your trap two to four days after application. If the trap is still empty, I recommend moving it to another location.
Step 4
Once the trap is full, flip it over to catch more roaches.
Discard the trap once both sides are full.
Ideal Places to Apply
- Anywhere near food and water
- Under and behind kitchen appliances such as your refrigerator and stove
- Inside cabinets and pantry
- Where there are signs of roach infestations such as roach carcasses and droppings
- Under your kitchen and bathroom sink
Where should they not apply it:
Roaches shy away from humans. As such, the trap is unlikely to be effective in open areas and where people frequent.
You’ll also want to make sure to keep the trap away from children since it will contain dead insects.
How Does It Work?
The glue board works by trapping insects that walk on it using an adhesive.
Once they are stuck, they are unable to get away, which eventually kills them.
What I Like
Pesticide-free and odorless.
The TAT roach motel traps attract bugs by using a secret attractant.
Thus, the attractant is odorless to humans, but designed specifically to lure roaches.
If you place your nose close to the trap, you may smell a hint of maple syrup. But this smell is barely noticeable at normal distances.
And because it’s pesticide-free, it’s safe for kids and pets.
Highly Effective
This roach trap is highly effective at trapping roaches and other bugs.
It’s adhesive is strong and reliable, ensuring that no roach will be able to get out.
Easy and Clean to Use
This roach trap is easy to install. All you have to do is unwrap and place it where the roaches typically travel.
And because it’s covered, you don’t have to see any bugs that have been caught. So, you wouldn’t have to deal with unsightly bugs trapped around your house.
The cover also keeps dirt away from the trap.
Long-lasting
The attractant on the trap is effective for up to two to four months after opening.
Can Trap Many Roaches
The TAT Roach Motel Traps has a big surface area to accommodate roaches.
Not only that, but you can also flip one side over once it’s full to accommodate for more roaches.
Can Be Used Both Indoors and Outdoors
One of the best features of this trap is its versatility.
Unlike other roach traps, this one is recommended for both inside and outside use.
What I Dislike
Costly
This roach trap is more expensive than many similar products on the market.
Bulky
This trap is a bit bulky, so you may not be able to place it in certain areas.
The bulkiness may be a big let down if you want to place this trap in narrow areas, such as under your dishwasher.
Not a Solution For Large Infestation
No cockroach trap will eliminate a roach infestation.
While they are a significant first step, they will not effectively kill an entire population of roaches.
To do that, I recommend doing an integrated pest control system.
Needs to Be Placed at The Right Spot
This trap does not attract roaches from afar.
That means you’ll need to place them exactly where the roaches live and travel.
As such, when using this product, I highly recommend doing investigative work first.
Look for signs of roaches around your home, such as roach droppings and body parts. Where you see these signs are likely where the roach frequent.
If you cannot find any signs, place the trap in places near food and water and away from human activity.

The odor is not hazardous to people or animals.

How To Apply It?
Step 1
Peel the protective paper from the glue board.
Step 2
Place the cardboard in flat areas where roaches frequent.
This area may vary depending on the type of roach you have. To be sure, I recommend inspecting before installing the traps.
Look for signs of roaches such as droppings, carcasses, and roach body parts. You’ll typically find these in the roaches harborage area.
Once you find these, install your trap in the same location.
If you cannot find any signs of roaches, I recommend placing them in areas where roaches live and travel.
Some areas I’d recommend are near food and water, such as your bathroom and kitchen.
Place the trap on hidden areas such as under appliances and sinks.
Step 3
Check the glue boards daily to see if any roaches get trapped.
The number of roaches that it will capture will vary depending on the size of your infestation.
But if the trap is still empty after a week of installation, I recommend moving it to a different location.
Step 4
Discard the trap once it’s full
Where to Use
Catch 72MB is a great roach trap to use indoors. Place them where roaches commonly travel and live.
Ideal places to install them are:
- Under kitchen and bathroom sinks
- Pantry
- Kitchen cabinets
- Under Furniture
- Under kitchen appliances
- Garage and other storage areas
How Does It Work?
The Catchmaster 72MB traps roaches using adhesive glue.
It captures any roach, insect, or mice that walk on it.
If the roach isn’t able to get away from the trap, it will eventually die.
This trap is not intended for outdoor use.
Heat from direct sunlight can melt the glue and render it ineffective.
You’ll also want to keep this trap inaccessible to kids and pets.
The glue is incredibly sticky and can get stuck on your hair and fur.
Since the trap will also contain roaches, keeping it out of reach is a good idea for sanitary reasons.
Pro tip: If the glue gets stuck on children or pets, you can dissolve it using olive oil or any mineral oil.
What I Like
Not for outdoors
This trap is not intended for outdoor use.
Heat from direct sunlight can melt the glue and render it ineffective.
It captures dust
The trap is vulnerable to dirt and dust.
Doesn’t Eliminate Infestation
No cockroach trap will eliminate a roach infestation.
While they are a significant first step, they will not effectively kill an entire population of roaches.
To do that, I recommend doing an integrated pest control system.
What I Dislike:
Only for Detection
This trap is best for detection and can not eliminate bed bugs.
After using this trap, you will likely need to use other chemicals and treatments to get rid of bed bugs.
Ineffective with Large Infestations
The lure used on this trap becomes effective with large bed bug infestations.
The pheromones of other bed bugs will drown out the lure making it useless.
3. Trapper Insect Trap
Pros
Effective in targeting roaches as well as other insects
You can use it as one large trap or divide it into three traps
Non-toxic
Small enough to fit in narrow spaces
It has an adhesive backing, which allows you to install it on walls
Can be turned into a tent
Cons
The adhesive glue is thin
Kinda flimsy. It can easily falls apart in the folded position
Not made for outdoors
Can rip off paint from your wall
Key Details
- Dimensions: 7″ x 3.5″ cardboard trap
- Number in Packet: Trapper Monitor Insect Trap TM2600 – (10 Large Traps or 30 Small Traps) and Trapper Monitor Insect Traps (Case -100 Large/300 Small traps)
- How Long Does It Last? These traps last until they are full.
How To Apply It?
Step 1
Open the box and fold along the score line.
Peel off the cardboard trap.
Step 2
Place it where the roaches frequent in your house.
If you’re unsure, I recommend doing a quick inspection.
Look for signs of roaches such as exoskeletons and droppings. Once you’ve identified these, place the trap where they are located.
If you are unable to find any signs of roaches, place the traps where roaches are known to travel.
Common places are under the kitchen and bathroom sink. Roaches also love to hang out inside kitchen cabinets, pantry and under appliances.
Step 3
Leave the trap for at least four days.
The amount of roaches you will capture will depend on the infestation you have.
For large infestations, one day is usually enough. Smaller infestations may take a week.
If your trap stays empty a week after installation, it’s time to move it to a different location in your house.
Empty traps could either mean you placed it on the wrong spot, or you do not have roaches in your home.
Step 4
Discard the trap once it’s full. Remember to dispose in accordance with your state and federal regulations.
Where to Apply?
Install the Trapper Insect Trap anywhere roaches frequent.
Common areas are under your kitchen appliances, inside cabinets and under kitchen and bathroom sinks.
You can also take advantage of its adhesive backing and install it along your walls and baseboards.
Where Not to to Apply?
Keep the roach trap away from kids and pets.
What I Like
Cheap
Trapper is both a reliable and an affordable way to control roaches in your home
Easy Installation and Removal
This trap is not messy or complicated.
Just unbox and adhere to surfaces where roaches tend to go. And you’re done!
Can stick on vertical surfaces
This trap comes with an adhesive backing.
This allows you to be strategic with your installation. You can place the traps on places where roaches walk such as baseboards and walls.
Can split into three parts
The trap comes with 30 cards. You can split each card into three traps or use it as a one giant trap
Non-Toxic
This trap is a toxic-free solution for eliminating roaches
Can be turn into a tent
You can fold this trap to create a small tent. Since roaches love tight spaces, this feature is a cool addition.
What I Dislike
Not a Solution For Large Infestation
No cockroach trap will eliminate a roach infestation.
While they are a great first step, they will not effectively kill an entire population of roaches.
To do that I recommend doing an integrated pest control system.
Placement is Key
This trap does not attract roaches from afar.
That means you’ll need to place them exactly where the roaches frequent for it to do its job.
When using this product, I highly recommend doing investigative work first.
Look for signs of roaches around your home such as roach droppings and body parts. Where you see these signs are likely where the roach travels often.
If you cannot find any signs, place the trap in places near food and water and away from human activity.
It’s captures dust and debris
The trap is vulnerable to dirt and dust. Debris is bad because it can render the glue ineffective.
4. Exterminators Choice Large Glue Sticky Traps
Pros
Pesticide-Free – All Natural
Affordable
Easy To Use and Set up
Discrete – easily hide under bed and furniture

Cons

-
How Long Does It Last? Up to 30 days or until the trap gets full
-
Any Chemicals: None
-
Scent: None
How To Apply It?

Peel of the safety film from the non-toxic glue.
Step 2
Place the bait in the middle of the glue trap.
Step 3
Fold the walls of the trap to create a small tent.
Step 4
Place everywhere where roaches frequent.
Ideal places to put this trap are in your kitchen and bathroom where roaches can have easy access to food and water.
Where to apply?
- Anywhere near food and water
- Under and behind kitchen appliances such as your refrigerator and stove
- Inside cabinets and pantry
- Under your kitchen and bathroom sink
- Where there are signs of roach infestations such as roach carcasses and droppings
- Garage
- Porch
Where not to apply?
Place the trap where there is least human activity.
Roaches shy away from humans. So, you’ll want to install the trap in hidden, undisturbed places.
You’ll also want to make sure to keep the trap away from children since it will contain dead insects.
How Does It Work?
These traps are glue boards. They work precisely like glue boards for other insects.
Once built, any bed bugs that walk over the glue will get stuck on contact.
For the best results, strategically place these traps where bed bug activity is high.
This includes:
- the legs of your bed
- the base of the furniture inside your bedroom
- the bed frame, and
- Other areas where bed bug activity is present
These traps are best for monitoring and not eliminating bed bugs.
I highly recommend using these traps if you have had your home treated for bed bugs.
This is a great way to determine if any bed bugs remain in your home.
These are also great to use if you suspect bed bugs in your home.
Keeping these active during and after a treatment is a great way to gauge the level of infestation.
What I Like
Pesticide-free
This roach trap is pesticide-free. It’s also odorless.
Easy Application and Use
It’s easy to kill roaches with this trap. All you have to do is peel off the protective wrap and fold to make a tent.
Next, place it where the roaches travel, and you’re all set!
Once the trap is full, you can discard it along with the bugs without making a mess.
Works Well
Because this trap uses bait, it works much better than many other brands in the market.
Cheap
This brand is more affordable compared to many similar brands. And it does the job, making every penny worth it.
What I Dislike
No Lure
One of the most significant issues with this trap is that there is no lure or scent to attract bed bugs.
This means that the bed bugs must walk through the trap on its own for it to work.
If a bed bug climbs up or down your bedpost on the opposite side of the traps, they will escape.
Since there is no way to draw them in, they can sometimes be useful even if there is activity.
Doesn’t Eliminate Infestation
Traps are great for monitoring roaches and capturing a few.
But no cockroach trap will eliminate a roach infestation.
To do that, I recommend doing an integrated pest control system.
It captures debris
The trap is vulnerable to dirt and dust. Debris is terrible because it can render the glue on the trap ineffective.
5. Combat Roach Killing Bait Station
Pros
Easy to use
Kills roaches by ingestion
Eliminates infestation
Kid and pet-safe
Cons
Need to supplement with other methods to eliminate large infestation
May takes couple of weeks to work
Costly
Key Details
- Dimensions: 1.34 x 7.18 x 4.62 inches (12 bait stations) and 3.00 x 1.00 x 2.00 inches (6 bait stations)
- Number in Packet: 6 or 12 bait stations.
- How Long Does It Last? Up to three months.
- Any Chemicals: Yes, fast-acting insecticide Fipronil.
- Scent: None
How To Apply It?
Step 1
Break baits apart and place them where roaches live and travel.
Make sure to install them about 1½ feet apart to maximize coverage.
If you are unsure of where to install the bait, I recommend doing an overall inspection in your home.
Find areas where signs of roaches such as roach carcasses and droppings, are present. These places are an excellent area to install your bait.
In general, an excellent place to put the trap are places to check are near water and food.
If you can’t find any signs of roaches, I recommend putting the trap under your bathroom and kitchen sink.
Another ideal place is under kitchen appliances.
Step 2
It will take about two weeks for the bait to work.
Depending on the size of the infestation, the set of bait may not be enough.
This bait trap lasts for about three months, so re-apply accordingly.
Where to apply:
Anywhere where roaches live and travel, including:
- Under and behind kitchen appliances such as your refrigerator and stove
- Inside cabinets and pantry
- Where there are signs of roach infestations such as roach carcasses and droppings
- Under your kitchen and bathroom sink
Where not to apply:
While this product is generally safe for kids and pets, I recommend keeping them out of reach to err on the side of caution.
This product contains pesticides, so keep away from pets and kids to avoid accidental ingestion.
What I Like
Lure Method
One of my favorite parts about this product is that it turns glue boards into an active monitoring system.
The heat lure is designed to improve the efficiency of traditional glue boards.
Effective On Other Pests
A major benefit of this product is that the combined lure method of light and heat attracts other insects.
With this product, you can trap several other bugs to determine the type of pest problem you have.
What I Dislike
Large and Bulky
Unfortunately, this product is quite large and bulky compared to other bed bug traps.
As a result, it will not always fit under your bed or furniture, especially if your product is less than 4 inches in height.
The size is a major downside because it can limit where you place your traps.
Another issue is that it’s large.
This is not a discrete product. Others will likely be aware that it is present if you are using this product.
Limited Sticky Glue Refills
Another thing that I dislike about this product is that it comes with limited refills.
Since this product is circular, you need particular sticky traps to fit this trap.
The glue traps are easy to find, and they are compatible with Victor M231 Sticky Trap refills.
Constant Light Source
This product also needs a contact power source for the best results.
This is a problem for several reasons:
- It drains power.
- Extension cords are typically required to achieve ideal placement locations.
- Light bulbs burn out fast.
6. Henslow Intelligent and Effective Cockroach
Pros
Eco-friendly
No cruelty towards insects
Reusable
Durable
Easy to use
Can choose between killing and trapping
Cons
Aesthetically unappealing
If not handled properly, the lids might open and let some of the roaches escape.
Must deal with live roaches after trap is full
Key Details
- Dimensions: 5.51 x 5.51 x 1.77 inches
- Number in Packet: 1 Trap
How To Apply It?
The first step is to get the bait you are going to use.
This can be something as simple as food from your kitchen. Or you can use toxic roach bait.
Next, snap open the lid and add bait into each box. You should add bait into each of the four quadrants of the trap.
Once the bait is added, close the trap. Make sure to snap the lid closed.
Finally, place the trap where roaches frequent in your home or outside your home.
How Does It Work?
This is a reusable trap that does not use glue to trap roaches.
The concept is quite simple, a bait is placed inside the trap to lure cockroaches inside.
One they enter the trap, the entrance is a one way entrance.
Meaning once the roach enters it can no longer exit.
There are three entrances around the trap. Make sure these are covered and facing the proper way once you set the trap.
Finally, inside the trap toxic or non-toxic bait can be used to either kill or trap the cockroaches inside.
What I Like
Versatile Placement
The amazing thing about this product is that you can place it in areas where other traps typically can’t.
With the adhesive back you can attach as close to the bed bugs natural hiding spot as possible.
Discrete and Professional
This device is designed with the professional and consumer in mind.
First, it’s easy to use. The slim design and adhesive back allow you to easily place it in locations that are not visible to others.
Second, the trap adhesive works extremely well and has dates and tracking on the front for improved monitoring.
What I Dislike
Unsightly
The major downside to this trap is that it is unsightly.
While the clear opening is useful for monitoring your trap it does leave the activity exposed the entire time.
This can make it unsightly to see and often disruptive to many people.
Large
Another downside is that it is large.
This does not fit in corners or along baseboards very easily.
This is best for placing under appliances or in large open spaces where cockroaches frequent.
Unfortunately the size can be quite limiting for this product since you can place it where cockroaches frequent the most.
Cleaning and Disposing
While it is eco friendly and reusable, this comes at a cost.
You will need to do some cleaning and disposing of the trapped cockroaches once it is full.
Whether you decide to use toxic or non-toxic this process is inevitable.
It is much worse if you are dealing with live cockroaches since you need to find somewhere to dispose of them properly where they won’t return to your home.
The cleaning process is quite disgusting to many and often the reason that most people avoid using a reusable cockroach trap.
7.Trapro Cockroach Traps
Pros
Sticky Adhesive works extremely well
Non-toxic – no toxic chemicals or scents left behind
Inexpensive
Comes with bait
Catches other home insects too
Cons
Bait does not always attract roaches
Doesn’t kill insects
Not ideal for flying insects
Not recommended for severe infestations
- Not discrete – very colorful and has a design
Key Details
- Dimensions: 20.6 x 10.2 x 3.6 cm
- Number In Packet: 12
- How Long Does It Last: 1-2 months
- Any Chemicals: Non-toxic
- Scent: None
How To Apply It?
These traps work very similarly to other roach traps with the exception that it comes with a bait.
The bait comes in a tablet form and should be placed in the center of the glue trap.
To set up the traps:
- Unfold the side of the trap to keep the structure secure.
- Peel off the paper cover to expose the glue trap.
- Place the bait in the center of the glue trap.
- Place where cockroaches are most active.
These traps should be placed in corners, under appliances, in cupboards, near water sources, or other areas where roaches are common in your home.
As a rule of thumb, place traps in tight spaces, and along guidelines and corners.
How Does It Work?
The design is simple yet effective.
Traps contain glue on the inside. Inside the traps a bait is placed inside to attract cockroaches.
When cockroaches enter the cockroach trap, they get stuck on the glue trap and can’t get out.
This trap has four different entrances which allows cockroaches to enter from either side of the trap.
What I Like
Comes With Bait
Unlike other similar glue traps, these traps come included with bait. The bait attracts cockroaches towards the trap making it more effective.
Rather than relying on luck or perfect placement the bait works for you to make the trap more effective.
Non-Toxic and Eco-Friendly
Two other great features about these traps is that the glue does not use any toxic chemicals. All ingredients are safe for children and pets.
Another great thing about this trap is that it is made of completely recycled materials which helps with its environmental footprint.
What I Dislike
Glue Dries Quickly
Unfortunately, this glue trap tends to dry faster than advertised.
When compared to other traps the glue also dries much faster.
Bait Does Not work as Advertised
While this glue trap does come with bait, it does not always work as advised.
There are instances where the bait does not attract cockroaches effectively.
In some cases using other household items works as a better bait than the bait that comes with roach traps.
8. Terro T256 Roach Magnet
Pros
Comes with plenty of traps.
Easy to use
Discrete black color so they blend in easily
Use pheromone lure to attract cockroaches
No pesticides
Structure design allows you to avoid seeing caught cockroaches
Cons
Traps are on the smaller side.
Might not easily fit in smaller / shorter locations.
Glue will get stuck on your hand if your not careful
Key Details
- Dimensions: 20.6 x 10.2 x 3.6 cm
- Number In Packet: 12
- How Long Does It Last: 1-2 months
- Any Chemicals: Non-toxic
- Scent: None
How To Apply It?
To begin using these strips you need to follow a few simple steps:
-
-
- Break apart each twin pack to start building the trap.
- Remove the center strip of the trap.
- Fold the sides down.
- Ensure that the structure holds up
- Places where cockroaches frequent.
-
How Does It Work?
This trap works just like other glue traps with one exception.
While most glue traps do not include anything that attracts the cockroach to the traps this trap does.
The terro traps use a pheromone to attract cockroaches and make them more effective.
One the roach enters the trap, they will get stuck on the glue and will not be able to come out.
What I Like
Pheromone
What I like most about the trap is that it uses pheromone technology to attract cockroaches.
While other traps rely on placement or food scent the technology is more advanced than other traps.
Rather than relying on perfect placement, the pheromone helps make this trap more effective.
Small and Discrete
The other thing I like about this trap is that it is small and discrete. It easily fits under appliances which means you can place it in common roach hiding places around your home.
Another thing is that the black color makes it discrete and when not prompted most people won’t notice the traps at all.
What I Dislike
Traps are small
These traps are definitely on the smaller side. This is a downside because you will need to change it more often.
Also, you cover less space, making it less effective against cockroaches.
Sticky Area Is Small
Another issue I have with this product is that not only are the traps small but the sticky glue portion is even smaller.
Unlike other products where the glue trap covers the entire bottom of the trap, this one doesn’t.
This means that it is possible for a cockroach to enter and exit the trap without ever stepping on the glue.
This is a problem for me; although I have never seen it happen, it is possible.
9. NISONG Roach Glue Traps
Pros
Environmentally Friendly.
No assembly required
No Mess.
Discrete and keeps roaches out of sight
Can fit in small crevices and under appliances.
Cons
The straps are hard to separate
Entrance is small
Not great for larger roaches
Key Details
- Dimensions: 6.7 x 6.3 x 1.3 inches
- Number in Packet: It comes with 4 Roach Straps, 8 Roach Traps, 16 Roach Traps, and 32 Roach Traps
- How Long Does It Last: 6 months
How To Apply It?
This product requires no assembly. Just pull apart the traps and place them where roaches frequent the most.
How Does It Work?
The plastic shelters house glue traps. When the cockroaches walks into the trap, they will get stuck and can no longer get out.
What I Like
No Assembly Required
I like that there is no assembly required. I don’t have to worry about peeling off glue traps.
Right out of the box I can break the traps apart and start placing them around my house.
Discrete and Covered Housing
I like that these traps have a housing over them.
The housing over the traps keeps the trapped cockroaches out of sight. In addition to the black color and sleek design these traps often go unnoticed when placed under appliances or in corners of your home.
What I Dislike
Quality
These products are made quite cheap. In some cases the houses can break apart when you are trying to separate them.
Overall they are very fragile and bend quite easily.
Small Opening
I find that the opening is rather small on these traps. This is not ideal for larger cockroaches.
Also I find that with larger infestation or at active sites, the traps tend to get filled up rather quickly at the front which discourages other cockroaches from entering.
